Kath is here!

Dear Helga, Vera & Flora,

I have sent your regards to Kath. She has safely arrived in Aberdeen. She is going to stay with me for a week.

I picked her up from the airport just before 5pm yesterday. Poor thing, she had to wait for an hour in the airport. We screamed like crazy cats when we saw each other. It was a nice feeling to see a face of an old friend.

The traffic was heavy from the airport to the city centre so it took us a while before we got to our destination: the supermarket! I had to buy some food because I was going to make Thai Green Curry Chicken with rice for dinner. We did not pick up any wine because Aneli, my flatmate, was going to do that.

After food shopping, we drove to Yi Wei's place to pick her up. Yi Wei was staying over at mine for the night (on the couch!) because she had an early morning train to Sterling and my place is conveniently near to the train station. While at the city centre, we made a stop for a while because Yi Wei wanted to get a bottle of wine for dinner and for some reasons, she ended up buying two.

We got home safely and I introduced Kath to Aneli. I started preparing dinner and Kath helped while the other two girls were doing their own version of reading (Yi Wei on her work presentation and Aneli on her laptop). Yi Wei had a poster presentation today at Sterling and last night she showed us her first official medical poster. Impressive, although I would prefer if they put her name as Dr.Goh Yi Wei instead of Dr.Yi Wei Goh.

The dinner went well I supposed. So did the dessert - a quick cheesecake from the shop with a scoop of ice cream! Everyone had a great conversation on the dinner table about work, men, films, food and everything under the sun.

Around bed time, I introduced eye brow razors to Yi Wei - which she loved - but I accidentally cut myself on my finger and it bled like it wouldn't stop but all is fine now. But you know how scared I am of cuts. Oh, the fresh wound!

I woke up this morning talking to Kath about directions to go to city centre and our plan to watch 500 Days of Summer at the cinema tonight. A few of my friends will join us. It is going to be a pretty chilled out evening. We hope to just relax so we could enjoy our weekend trip to Edinburgh tomorrow morning where Kath will shop till she drops.

I guess that's all for now. I will write again soon after coming back from Edinburgh!

P/s Selamat Hari Raya to everyone & enjoy your long holiday.

9 Months Later...(Funny)

Jack decided to go skiing with his buddy, Bob.

They loaded up Jack's minivan and headed north. After driving for a few hours, they got caught in a terrible blizzard. They pulled into a nearby farm house and asked the attractive lady who answered the door if they could spend the night.

"I realize it's terrible weather out there and I have this huge house all to myself, but I'm recently widowed," she explained, "and I'm afraid the neighbors will talk if I let you stay in my house."

"Not to worry," Jack said, "we'll be happy to sleep in the barn, and if the weather breaks, we'll be gone at first light. The lady agreed and the two men found their way to the barn and settled in for the night.

Come morning, the weather had cleared and they got on their way and enjoyed a great weekend of skiing.

About nine months later, Jack got an unexpected letter from an attorney. It took him a few minutes to figure it out, but he finally determined that it was from the attorney of that attractive widow he met on the ski weekend.

He dropped in on his friend Bob and asked: "Bob, do you remember that good-looking widow from the farm we stayed at on our ski holiday up North."

"Yes, I do."

"Did you happen to get up in the middle of the night,go up to the house and have sex with her?"

"Yes," he said, a little embarrassed about being found out, "I have to admit that I did."

"And did you happen to use my name instead of telling her your name?"

Bob's face turned red and he said, "Yeah, sorry buddy, I'm afraid I did. Why do you ask?"

"No need to apologize, Bob. She just died and left me everything!

AND YOU THOUGHT THE ENDING WOULD BE DIFFERENT,DIDN'T YOU?????

HAVE A NICE DAY!!!

Soldier of Fortune

A story is told about a soldier who was finally coming home after
having fought in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco.
"Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I've a favor to ask. I have a
friend I'd like to bring home with me."

"Sure," they replied, "we'd love to meet him."

"There's something you should know the son continued, "he was hurt
pretty badly in the fighting. He stepped on a land mind and lost an
arm and a leg. He has nowhere else to go, and I want him to come
live with us."

"I'm sorry to hear that, son. Maybe we can help him find somewhere
to live."

"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to live with us."

"Son," said the father, "you don't know what you're asking. Someone
with such a handicap would be a terrible burden on us. We have our
own lives to live, and we can't let something like this interfere
with our lives. I think you should just come home and forget about
this guy. He'll find a way to live on his own."

At that point, the son hung up the phone. The parents heard nothing
more from him. A few days later, however, they received a call from
the San Francisco police. Their son had died after falling from a
building, they were told. The police believed it was suicide. The
grief-stricken parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the
city morgue to identify the body of their son. They recognized him,
but to their horror they also discovered something they didn't know,
their son had only one arm and one leg.

The parents in this story are like many of us. We find it easy to
love those who are good-looking or fun to have around, but we don't
like people who inconvenience us or make us feel uncomfortable. We
would rather stay away from people who aren't as healthy, beautiful,
or smart as we are. Thankfully, there's someone who won't treat us
that way. Someone who loves us with an unconditional love that
welcomes us into the forever family, regardless of how messed up we
are.
